Upcoming Juried Show "On the Balcony" at the Appleton
September 4th through Sunday, October 3rd, 2010
Here at last, is the information and forms regarding the upcoming juried show "On the Balcony" at the Appleton, September 4th through Sunday, October 3rd, 2010. I am sending it to you in pdf format and all you have to do is print it out, fill in the blanks on page 2 and send it to me at my home address, listed on the form, by August 9. Please read the Eligibility and Rules carefully.
Most importantly, you MUST be a fully paid up member to submit artwork for this show so if you have not, as yet, paid your 2010/2011 yearly OAG dues, make haste..... There is no entry fee for this show.
This will be a thrilling experience for all of us as it will be the first time in many years that we'll be showing at the Appleton. The Curator of the Appleton, Ruth Grim, will select the artwork for the show from all that have been brought in and the show will be judged by certified judge of the Appleton's choosing. The space on the balcony is limited to 35, 40 at the very most and Ms. Grim will use her expertise and critical eye to make the selections.
We look forward to seeing some wonderful new work and to large membership participation. Please also remember that following the Appleton Show, OAG will be at the Brick for the month of October. More entry information for that show will be forthcoming.

 Museum Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ~ Sunday, Noon to 5 p.m.
Deadline to Enter the September Show:
- August 9, 2010
- Three weeks prior to drop off date, August 30, 10 a.m.
- ....One Piece Only.....
- ....No entry Fee for participating....
 Exhibition Dates: Saturday, September 4 through Sunday, October 3
Art Drop-off: Monday, August 30th, 1:30 a.m. at the Security Entrance, rear of the Museum.
Pickup of work not accepted: Wednesday, Sept. 1st. at 10:00 a.m (artists will be notified).
Reception and Awards: Not specified at this time....
Art pickup: Monday, October 4th, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.

Eligibility: Must be a full, paid up member to participate..Before August 9
Entry forms: Completed forms must be submitted by the Application Deadline, August 9.
RULES FOR OCALA ART GROUP’S “ON THE BALCONY” MUSEUM SHOW
- Artists are restricted to only one entry due to limited wall space.
- All work entered must be the original concept of the artist. No work copied from books, magazines, enhanced by instructors in classes or workshops will be accepted.
- Two-dimensional works cannot exceed 48" x 48", including frame. All work must be hung with wire or D rings. Proper matting and glass, and have finished edges.
- Gallery wrap is acceptable providing the edges are aesthetically finished to go with the artwork.
- Weight of any artwork to be hung cannot exceed 60 pounds. No diptych or triptych paintings unless they are in the same frame and do not exceed 48" x 48".
- ONLY NEW WORK. Artwork must not have been shown at any previous Ocala Art Group Show.
- All work must remain in the Museum for the duration of the show. Anyone interested in purchasing artwork must contact artist.
- Work must be picked up by the artist or by a designee with written permission from the artist.
- Artwork cannot be stored at the Museum. All work must be picked up on Monday, Oct. 4th.
